First, check whether this applies to your build
Use this guide if your verified app offers an SMS one-time-code flow. Different providers and builds can use other sign-in methods. The app’s on-screen instructions govern its code lifetime and retry rules.
A code-delivery issue is different from an incorrect account method or a lost registered number. Identifying which condition applies makes the next step clearer.
Check the request and delivery path
- Read the requested destination
Confirm the registered number and country code in the verified flow. Avoid sharing the full number in public reports.
- Check access to that number
Make sure the relevant SIM and messaging service are available. If the registered number has changed or is no longer yours, move to the provider’s recovery process.
- Follow the shown timer
Wait for the app’s actual retry instructions. This guide does not invent a universal retry interval or delivery promise.
- Use the code in its intended flow
Enter it only into the verified sign-in process that requested it. A support agent or download website should not need you to send the code to them.
When several codes arrive
Repeated requests can make it harder to know which attempt a message belongs to. Follow the provider’s instructions about using the current code and its validity, rather than assuming an older message still applies.
Keep the app open in the intended sign-in flow while checking the message. If the process has expired or restarted, use the on-screen instructions before another attempt.
When the registered method is unavailable
Code requests cannot restore access to a phone number you no longer control. Preserve any existing signed-in device and use the provider’s verified account recovery route.
